Originally from Compton, California Halleemah Nash is a demonstrated leader in all facets of nonprofit leadership. Her drive has contributed to a breadth of experience public speaking and developing signature community-based outreach programs for universities, government agencies, churches, celebrities, athlete foundations and sports teams.
Halleemah Nash made her debut as an influencer on the campus of Howard University where she honed her skills in leadership, networking, and embracing the principle of reaching back as one climbed. Her career in sports philanthropy began as a graduate student charged with developing a community based program for Duke University Athletics that connected the mens basketball team with at risk youth to support mentorship and community engagement. She then joined the Chicago Bulls as Community Relations Assistant where she spearheaded numerous educational and recreational programs for the CharitaBulls Foundation. In the off seasons, expanded her project management portfolio to large individual brands like Nike and the United Nations as well as charity projects for athletes Kobe Bryant (Los Angeles Lakers) Dwayne Wade (Miami Heat), Larry English (San Diego Chargers), Luol Deng (Cleveland Cavaliers), Joakim Noah (Chicago Bulls), Tyrus Thomas (Charlotte Bobcats), Duncan Keith (Chicago Blackhawks), and she currently led strategic development, fundraising, programming, growth and human resource management for the Israel Idonije (Detroit Lions) Foundation.
Believing in the power of sport to create social change, Halleemah launched her own philanthropy consulting firm Legacy Venture Consulting, LLC where she has developed strategic plans and successfully executed comprehensive fundraising and branding programs for professional athletes in the NBA, NFL, NHL, as well as university athletic programs. She also hosts seminars on sports and entertainment’s ability to make a lasting impact all over the world.
Halleemah not only utilizes her passion in her professional and entrepreneurial endeavors, but also in her community where she is a sought after public speaker. For two years Halleemah served as Youth Pastor at Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church and has also addressed audiences at panels, workshops, keynote addresses, commencements, and corporate engagements throughout the United States and abroad. As a motivational speaker, she shares her story of overcoming adversity as an inner city youth and first generation college student that graduated with honors and her journey in finding purpose through a life of service. Her story of triumph has connected her with audiences across racial, socioeconomic, and geographic boundaries. A graceful and inspirational force, Halleemah Nash lives by the Mahatma Gandhi quote “Be the change you wish to see in this world.”
